Why do I want to join in Civil Service?

In the British ruled India, the noblest task of an abler person was to join in freedom fighting, to set free our country from the curse of colonial rule. Now we are free politically. But the reasons behind that freedom fighting was necessary or the dreams were behind the sacrifice, and the aspirations were in them, have not fulfilled yet after the sixty years of independence. That is in short the problem has not solved yet. It is fortunate enough that we have got the status of largest democracy in the world. But problems like poverty, illiteracy, bad health and nutrition, exploitation, corruption and lots of other social problem still persist. We cannot get it through fighting, we have to make it. Civil servants are made to solve these social problems and drive our country to the maximum development as possible. Its seems to me that in the post independent India, for an abler person, the noblest task would be to join in Civil Service to actively participate in the eradication of all social, economic and cultural problems from the society And to remove the tag ‘developing country’ adding instead ‘Developed Country’ beside our country. It is certain that Civil Service is not a lucrative job so far as compared to certain management or other corporate service, neither the salary is so lofty but you will feel a great satisfaction by participating for the development of the Country actively and primarily. Also you have to prepare for the unending collision with social evils and some innocent people or sometime their representatives. Because change is such a thing, many people cannot accept even if it is for the best for the society. That time you have to show your tremendous patience and diligence to tackle the situation to drive our society for the maximum betterment. I have a mission, vision and ambition to participate to make my country, India, a developed country. I don’t want anything else, no recognition, any money or fame. In this developed India, there will be no illiteracy, no corruption, no exploitation of private employee, there will be proper wages for any job, and there will be no slams anywhere, no health and nutrition problem in the society. Every person will be patriotic, everyone will know there fundamental Rights and Duties, everybody will be physically, economically and spiritually fit. The true equality of status and opportunity will emerge in the society. To make these happen, I want to join in Civil Service.
